What I do

I help tour and experience operators grow bookings by pairing solid marketing with practical AI. I come at it from the operator side: I've run a tour company, so I start with the jobs that swallow an operator's week, not with the shiniest tool. My work falls into four areas.

The thread through all of it: let AI carry the admin so your people can spend their time on the moments guests remember. To see how I think day to day, start with my posts on building a second brain for your tour company and whether your tour company should run on an agent.

Background

My background is on the operator and marketing side of travel, and I'm a co-founder of Carpe Diem Tours. Today much of my public work happens with Arival, the events and research organisation for the tours, activities and attractions industry. Each dated milestone below links to a public source.

  1. March 2021: founded Create Circus, a Shopify and marketing agency started in London, later profiled by Starter Story.
  2. November 2024: led the "Social Media Slam" breakout at Arival | Activate Edinburgh, auditing operators' social accounts live (Arival's Edinburgh recap).
  3. January 2025: published my first Arival article, 5 Ways Every Operator Can Grow Their Instagram.
  4. August 2025: wrote 5 Tour Operator Use Cases for AI & Automation, which Arival Wrapped, its 2025 year in review, gave an honourable mention.
  5. September 2025: spoke in two sessions at Arival's AI Forum for Destination Experiences, held alongside Arival 360 Washington, DC: AI Skills Live: The Ultimate GenAI Throwdown and the great debate on AI's distribution wars.
  6. March 2026: joined the Experience This! podcast (season 4, episode 3) to introduce vibe coding to tour operators.
  7. April 2026: co-authored, with Anne Failing, The Operator's Marketing Playbook, part of Arival's Global Operator Landscape (4th Ed.) research series.
  8. August 2026: spoke with Douglas Quinby of Arival and Frederik Waller of GetYourGuide on the Arival | GetYourGuide webinar, Organizational AI for Operators.
  9. October 2026: listed as a speaker at Arival 360 | Spokane, 12 to 15 October.

What people say

“…what I particularly appreciated about Oliver's session was how he moved beyond the theory and focused on what businesses can actually do with it today. His presentation was engaging, practical and full of useful examples that our operators could take away and start applying in their own businesses. He has a great ability to make AI feel approachable, regardless of someone's level of experience. … I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a speaker who can make AI both understandable and genuinely useful.”
Griffin Hanbury CEO, Gray Line Worldwide, on the Gray Line Partner Summit in Buenos Aires
